About The Role.

Under the general supervision of the Financial Recovery Manager and Director of Financial Recovery and in accordance with established collection policies, is responsible for collection efforts related to all real estate, secured and unsecured loans.
Assists in the daily management of the department.
Is responsible for accuracy and timeliness of actions and reports with compliance to all regulations.
Ensures confidentiality of all member information.
This position is accountable for achieving various sales behavior and production goals and providing exceptional service at all levels.
The expectations of this job are to build member relationships by providing excellent service and offering products that meet member's needs.
What You'll Do.

Monitors, works, and maintains the Credit Union's delinquent loan accounts.
Performs problem-solving activities with relation to these accounts including the investigation of missed loan payments.
Handles outbound calls in queues and any incoming calls.
Maintains accurate collection records and tickler files.
Identify and assist members on medical disability, and processes credit life and disability insurance claims and payments.
Work on paid in full report and make calls from the list to members.
Obtain GAP/Extended Warranty refunds on repossessed vehicles.
Credit disputes.
Prepares/updates Triad and CIS delinquency information.
Requests reimbursement under collateral protection program when an auto is repossessed or charged-off.
Handles repossessions.
Interfaces and serves as liaison with outside agencies related to repossessions and recoveries.
Looks for innovative and creative ways to not only reach members with delinquent accounts but also to encourage timely payments through direct deposit, payroll deduction and auto-pay, etc.
Skip trace on accounts as needed to locate members.
Facilitates NuMark's Collection Policy and acts as a liaison between members, attorneys, and various collection agencies.
Responsible for compliance to all BSA policies, procedures and regulations within area of responsibility.
Process, monitor and maintain loan workout requests.
Process, monitor and maintain mortgage modification requests.
Handle force placed insurance - add premiums, post refunds, increase and/or recalculate loan payments, skip claims, damage claims.
Process loan payments through the online payment system.
Prepare charged off accounts to be sent to collection agency/attorney for recoveries and serve as liaison with the agency/attorney.
Backs up the Director and Manager of Financial Recovery for the following tasks: Prepares Classified Loan report each month according to the DFI/NCUA guidelines.
Receives all bankruptcy notices and appropriately flags the member's account.
Complies with all legal regulations relating to Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies.
File Proofs of Claim in a timely manner.
Monitor and post Chapter 13 payments and payments from collection agencies.
Follow up and collect on delinquent real estate taxes.
Processes, sends, and follow up on Chapter 7 reaffirmation agreements.
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities You'll Need.

High school graduate required.
Experience in a consumer credit/lending department preferred.
Must be thoroughly familiar with the credit union's lending and collection policies and procedures.
Knowledgeable of all applicable federal and state related regulations.
Completes monthly management reports for review of compliance issues as they relate to delinquency and collections for consumer loans.
Proficient in computer applications associated with the position.
Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills.
Able to work under pressure.
Highly energetic and motivated individual.
Is goal oriented and results oriented.
Is motivated by the opportunity to earn monetary rewards and works well in an environment that supports this philosophy.
