The Seneca Public Library District is looking for a Bookkeeper who would work as an independent contractor for approximately fifteen-twenty hours per month.
The ideal candidate for this hybrid position would work remotely and come to the library once or twice every month.
RESPONSIBILITIES: * Maintains records in QuickBooks.
* Manages workflow to ensure all payroll and bookkeeping transactions are processed accurately and timely.
* Files IL, Federal, IDES, and IMRF reports.
* Maintains records for audits.
* Prepares monthly financial reports for the Library Board of Trustees.
* Forecasts the annual budget in cooperation with the library director.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: * Knowledge of QuickBooks.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Minimum of three years’ experience in accounting principles and practices, payroll, and bookkeeping.
* Previous bookkeeping experience with public entities, preferably libraries.
