*Hours:* Tuesdays 1:00pm – 8:00pm (7hr) Wednesdays 2:00pm – 8:00pm (6hr) Fridays 10:00am – 5:00pm (7hr) Rotating Saturdays 10:00am - 4:00pm *Position Summary:* As the Adult Services Coordinator at the Sandwich Public Library, you will take the lead in overseeing the adult department under supervision from the Library Director.
You will regularly interact with the general public, promotes quality customer service, and establish positive relationships with library patrons and staff.
Primary responsibilities include implementing educational and recreational programs for adults, curating adult collections, offering readers’ advisory services, assisting with various technology, and guiding adults in navigating the library effectively.
Collaborating closely with our library's marketing coordinator, you will also actively promote programs and services through various outreach strategies.
Additionally, you'll lend your expertise at the circulation desk as needed and support other projects that may be assigned to you.
As a senior staff member, you will be responsible to co-manage the library when the Director or other Senior Staff members are unavailable.
Once employed for six months, you will also assist in the training of staff, volunteers and interns on an as-needed basis.
*Key Responsibilities:* *1.
Program Development: *Take charge of planning, implementing, and overseeing all adult and teen programs of educational and recreational value.
These programs will include, but are not limited to: monthly clubs, after-hours activities, holiday/seasonal events, tech classes, and passive programs.
Effectively collaborate with the Youth Services Coordinator to offer intergenerational programming including, but not limited to, the annual Summer Reading Program, Winter Reading program and annual holiday event.

Collection Curation: *Curate and manage collections for young adults that cater to the interests and needs of these age groups.
Stay on top of popular trends in media, literature, and technology.
Have a working knowledge of popular adult and teen materials including books and media.
*3.
Reference & Readers Advisory: *Offer guidance to patrons by assisting them in discovering appropriate reading and audio/visual materials and providing helpful recommendations.
*4.
Technology: *Serve as a knowledgeable resource for patrons by assisting them in navigating the library's databases, general technology, and online resources through one-on-one aid and/or technology classes.
Maintain the library’s website regarding events, program registrations, services, and databases.

Outreach and Promotion: *Collaborate with the marketing coordinator to promote and design promotional materials for programs and services through digital, in-house, and offsite locations.
Engage in promotional events within the community to represent the library and educate the community on programs and services.
*6.
Budget Management: *Prepare and manage budgets for the adult and teen programming with dependable fiscal responsibility.
May assist in budget management for additional budget line items.
*7.
Data Management & Future Planning: *Collect and maintain adult and teen programming statistics.
Provide monthly reports on adult and teen services, activities and news for the Director and Board.
Advise Director on long-term needs, improvements, and innovations in services and materials for adults and teens.

Collaboration: *Work closely with library staff, educators, volunteers and community organizations to build strong relationships and collaborate on programming, services, and aiding widespread community needs.

Continuing Education: *Participates in professional development and networking activities both online and in person.
*10.
Flexibility: *Demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to assist in other departments as needs arise.
*Qualifications: * · Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Two years of library experience preferred.
· Adequate computer skills required.
*Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:* · Works in an indoor office environment.
· The ability to lift 25 pounds or less; standing for long periods of time.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: $15.
00 - $17.
