ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Principal and the school office to assure smooth and efficient operation of the office.
MEDIA CENTER CLERK
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for developing, maintaining and managing media materials and services in support of the instructional program.
MEDIA CENTER CLERK DUTIES:
Adheres to the published policies of the district
Assists librarian with coordinating and supervising all activities of the media center
Creates an atmosphere in which media personnel and teachers work for the benefit of the students
Assists with maintaining records of all media acquisitions
Provides assistance to teachers, students and media center personnel in the use of the center and media materials
Assists with coordinating and supervising the distribution, utilization and storage of all media and equipment
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities
Assists with arranging for the repair of library books and media equipment and keeps records
Works cooperatively with classroom teachers to help students to develop habits of independent reference work and to develop skills in the use of reference materials in relation to planned assignments
Assists with organizing programs and setting up displays
Is punctual and consistent in reporting work and to other specific duty assignments
Exhibits professional attitudes towards other educators, parents and community members
Promotes use of all media center services and materials
Assists with maintaining a library for professional staff
Provides instruction on library materials to individuals or classes as requested
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma/GED
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Google
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
Ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to work with teachers, education support personnel, building administrators and the general public
