60506 Travel Requirement will require approximately ten weeks – Mission Dependent SCOPE The Transportation Operations Manager (TM) oversees shipping and distribution of retail as well as tuxedo rental product for Tailored Brands companies in assigned region.
Direct reports include Hub Managers, Shipping Manager, Hub and DC Supervisors, Drivers and other related staff in the Distribution Centers, Hubs and remote locations within that region.
PRIMARY FUNCTION The TM plans and executes the function of distributing tuxedos and retail goods to Company stores; manages drivers as well as shipping personnel, initiates and maintains positive customer relationships with internal and external customers; works closely with Distribution Center, Retail, and Transportation management to ensure on-time and cost effective shipments to and from stores.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Production and Quality Planning: Develops short-term plans (30 to 90 days) for the efficient use of materials, equipment and employees.
Works regularly with Distribution Center management, Director of Transportation and Retail management to establish plans for efficient shipping of flat goods as well as scheduled truck deliveries.
Responsible for planning labor forecasts and for achieving lean results.
Production and Quality Execution: Manages daily shipping and distribution activities to include route planning of the flat shipping operation.
The TM will coordinate internal as well as 3PL shipments to stores, hubs and other DCs.
Reviews and analyzes data in order to improve service and efficiency.
Strives to reduce costs associated with deliveries while maintaining high levels of customer service.
Production and Quality Reporting: Must be able to analyze data from multiple sources and be able to prepare reports for Company Management as needed and requested.
Scrubs financial statements for accuracy and analyzes for potential savings opportunities.
Customer Relations: Works directly with Company Management and store personnel to resolve internal and external customer-related concerns.
Employee Relations: Develops subordinate leaders.
Provides employee training, recognition, performance reviews, payroll activity and discipline.
Establishes and communicates employee work schedules and directs employees in the completion of work assignments.
Resolves employee concerns or reports unresolved concerns to Company Management.
Executes Company Human Resource policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws.
Safety: Leads the safety effort within assigned region.
Works with Fleet Safety Coordinator to ensure transportation related safety programs are conducted effectively and on time.
Participates in the investigation of accidents.
Compiles and submits safety reports to Fleet Safety Coordinator.
Ensures compliance with Workplace Safety Guidelines in all assigned facilities.
Security: Manages all security programs related to transportation within assigned region.
Works with Company Management to carry out Company security objectives.
Provides Company Management timely updates on transportation related security problems and security equipment needs.
· Equipment Maintenance: Schedules and executes the timely completion of regular maintenance on all delivery vehicles and equipment.
Inventory Management: Ensures proper handling of goods by following inventory policies and procedures.
Resolves transfer discrepancies with direction from Inventory Control department.
Special Projects: Leads and/or participates in special projects as assigned by the Company Management.
REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Reports directly to the Director of Transportation.
Maintains a close working relationship with Distribution Center management, multi-unit teams and stores.
Directly supervises Hub Managers, Shipping Managers, Hub Supervisors, Drivers and other related staff.
Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
