Job Overview:
The Limelight Director position is responsible for planning and implementing all practices and performances related to a specific theatrical production for the District's Limelight Theatre Company.
This position reports to the Cultural Arts Supervisor.
Location and hours vary based on productions, practices, and workshops.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, implement, evaluate all practices and performances.
Communicate professionally with supervisor, the Limelight Theatre Company and District staff, parents, 308 staff, and participants.
Teach participants with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
Be available to talk with and answer questions of participants before and after each class or have time availability to make return calls to answer questions or solve problems.
Maintains relationships with school district, insuring respect for the District’s staff, equipment, and facilities.
Build and maintain relationships with contacts at new venues.
Submit new program ideas to supervisor for upcoming productions/workshops.
Coordinates activities of regular personnel and volunteer staff members to ensure efficient operation and to promote positive communication with actors, parents, and community members.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Degree in theatre, music, education or commensurate experience.
Minimum of 3 of performances directing experience.
Possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Possess decision-making, conflict resolution, negotiation and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team member of the Limelight Theatre Company and District staff.
