Freedom House, a dynamic and growing domestic and sexual violence agency, is seeking a *Social Media Specialist/Strategist.
* This position assists management in various aspects of the agency’s community awareness efforts.
The successful candidate has experience in content creation, video editing, strategy, influence, engagement, and media placement.
The candidate will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the operation and function of the following popular social media platforms: Instagram, YouTube, X (formerly known as Twitter), and TikTok.
The candidate will reach, influence, and foster brand awareness.
Event attendance may be required on some evenings and weekends.

This position is located at our administrative headquarters in Princeton, IL *Essential Responsibilities* Responsibilities of the *Social Media Specialist/Strategist* will include, but are not limited to: * Research, plan, shoot, and edit scripted video content.
* Reach, influence, and foster brand awareness and loyalty in a high number of primarily female Gen Z and millennials (i.
e.
ages 17-42) in Illinois and eastern Iowa by delivering clicks, views, likes, and followers for content on TikTok, YouTube, X [Twitter], Instagram, and Facebook * Develop and implement strategies to increase brand awareness and increase viewership across social media platforms.
* Monitor and report online activity.
* Analyze popular social media trends and adjust agency’s content accordingly.
* Increase audience engagement.
*Other Responsibilities* * Local travel to attend awareness events.
* Supports and follows agency policies and procedures; complies with confidentiality.
* Maintains professional relationships with agency staff and clients.
* Participates in ongoing professional development requirements.
* Consistently meets deadlines for social media content delivery/upload.
* Maintains agency records and workspace in an orderly fashion.
* Represents the agency at stakeholder and community meetings.
* Serves as a Mandated Reporter.
* Other duties as assigned by Direct Supervisor / Manager.
*Qualifications* * Bachelor’s Degree (recommended) in journalism, business, public relations, communications, or internet marketing.
* Two years of experience in content creation, video editing, strategy, influence, engagement, media placement, and/or work responsibilities/activities.
* Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
* Proficient in using social media // content creation software and/or platforms (e.
g.
, Canva) * Analytical skills.
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks * Exercises attention to detail.
* Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills * Openness to fluctuating hours and/or a non-traditional schedule.
* Outstanding organizational skills.
* Possession of a valid Illinois Driver’s License and proof of insurance * Be able to successfully complete forty hours of training as required by the Illinois Criminal Sexual Assault Act, or an approved sixty-hour combined DV/SV training course within the first year of hire.
