Onsite in our Manufacturing Plant - Relocation Assistance Provided
The Assistant Plant Controller will be responsible for partnering with the Plant Controller to ensure a high level of compliance to GAAP, SOX, and company policies for the location.
The Assistant Plant Controller will manage the core accounting functions within the manufacturing plant, including month-end closes and finance initiatives.
This position will also be a business partner to the plant management team, helping the plant to achieve their over-arching business goals while identifying areas of risk and inefficiency and be proactive in developing and implementing appropriate measures to reduce these.
The Assistant Plant Controller will partner with peers at other manufacturing sites and central locations to leverage best practices and help build a consistent and reliable control environment.
What You’ll Do:
Drive accounting processes and process improvements within the plant to ensure accurate books and records and compliance to key control requirements including Sarbanes Oxley
Work cross-functionally with central accounting to lead control and efficiency initiatives resulting in a better control environment that is easier to monitor.
Partner with the Plant Controller to ensure a high level of compliance to GAAP, SOX, and company policies, including month end close processes, reporting, and plant financial statements
Identify, lead and implement process improvements in both the Financial and Accounting parts of our business with the appropriate involvement of plant, interplant, and central accounting partners.
Coordinate with plant operations to prepare business cases to support capital investments, including financial justification and proper accounting treatment.
Partner with the plant management team to provide financial and operational leadership to drive the strategic direction of the plant and deliver plant objectives
Support the business in identifying areas of risk and inefficiency; proactively develop and implement appropriate measures to reduce risk and inefficiency
Partner with peers in other manufacturing sites and central locations to leverage best practices and help build a consistent and reliable control environment
Create strong relationships within the plant and at office locations to create communication lines to share ideas and solve issues
Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports for plant and corporate management
Provide management with the strategic tools and reports to drive business results
Manage a team of 2-4 including cost accountants, buyers and clerks
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, 3 in manufacturing environment preferred
CPA or CMA preferred
General accounting knowledge in both GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley
Demonstrated advanced skills with Excel, including pivot tables & VlLOOKUPs, and other financially related and proprietary software
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred)
