Description:
The Process Engineer’s primary purpose is to optimize and increase production capabilities for our expandable polystyrene (EPS) product portfolio.
The Process Engineer is responsible for determining the optimal plan for utilizing assigned unit and providing process technical support for plant operations.
This role works closely with the Production Team to ensure oversight of the day-to-day operation to meet and exceed our safety, environmental and production goals.
Monitoring daily performance of the process unit, you will use your engineering knowledge to troubleshoot operational issues and challenge ideas to improve process capabilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process Engineer is responsible for day-to-day monitoring and support of processing unit health via key performance indicators
Work with operations, maintenance, and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Manage operating practices, projects, specification changes, and equipment design
Execute unit monitoring, troubleshooting and incident investigations
Evaluate and develop solutions for operational challenges
Work with Technical Development team to achieve improved product qualities
Provide occasional off-hours support of abnormal and non-routine operations
Other duties as assigned or interested
Requirements:
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
Previous process/optimization work experience or internship in petrochemical, refining, chemical, or industrial manufacturing facility is preferred
Experience with boilers, cooling towers, waste treatment is preferred
