Summary/Objective
As an Intercompany truck driver for Plano Molding you’ll play a vital role in the company’s everyday logistics.
Our truck drivers are responsible for transporting Plano Molding materials smoothly and efficiently.
Position is Local to Sandwich, IL and will involve driving between plants located in Plano, IL and Mendota, IL.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Pick up and drop off trailers among Illinois Manufacturing plants and Distribution Locations, or spot containers from yard to dock doors.
Majority of driving is done within 5 miles longest drive is 35 miles from plant to plant.
• Occasionally Load & unload finished production when DC staff is not available.
• Maintain inventory integrity of moved products.
• Follow both common sense and general safety rules when moving with in Manufacturing production and Distribution areas.
• Communicate safety concerns with site leadership
• Follow all DOT regulations
Work Environment
• Plano Molding Sandwich Distribution operates 24/7
• Employees work outdoors in inclement weather at times
• Employees will often be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
• Are sometimes exposed to contaminants
• Must wear safety attire or protective gear daily
Physical Demands
This position requires you to be on your feet for most of the day.
The employee may find themselves having to lift 40-45 pounds from time to time.
You will also perform physical movements such as pushing, pulling, and bending while on the job.
Required Education and Experience
• MUST HAVE a current and valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A CDL)
• Excellent Driving Record
• Submit to all DOT requirements
• Excellent record of attendance
Position Type, Expected Work Hours
This is a full-time position working a 8-hour Monday thru Friday schedule with ½ hour unpaid lunch period.
Working during shutdown periods to be expected.
Overtime will be required.
This position operates in a distribution environment and will be exposed to warm and cold working conditions depending on the season.
